Game Design
As a life-long gamer, I was excited to step into the world of video game design for a couple of projects. Using Unreal Engine 5 and pre-existing assets, I created two proof-of-concept video game levels. These projects taught about the vast capabilities of what is possible in Unreal Engine, using functionalities such as its Blueprints system, Camera’s, and its Sequencer in order to create two unique projects with different gameplay mechanics. The visual assets were pre-existing, but I used custom lighting and object placement in order to give each project a unique look.
Project 1 - A Platforming Game. I created a custom level design and gameplay mechanics for traversing the level, interact-able props, as well as a custom camera spline that follows the player throughout the level to completion.
Project 2 - An "Escape Room" game. Working in a team of two, I worked extensively on level design, creating custom gameplay mechanics, artistic direction, and used the level Sequencer to aid in the victory cinematic.
