3D Character Production
I created a reimagined version of the titular character, Icarus, from the famed Greek Legend of the same name. This version of ‘Icarus’, is a young noblewoman living in a fictionalised steampunk inspired version of Ancient Greece, named Elysia. Along with her father, Daedalus, they are exiled from the higher echelon of society, having become disillusioned with its leadership, and the stage is set for these two characters to become the core members in a societal revolution.
This project required for me to take an existing mythological figure, and completely reinvent their backstory and visual design. I was in charge of the full character production from start to finish. This involved extensive research and setting the scene during the concept stage, to full-scale production using digital tools; developing integral skills in poly-modeling, character sculpting, PBR-based texturing, and rigging for animation.
